SPECIAL INSPECTIONS
The recent adoption of the International Building Code as the Model Code of reference in many states has introduced the term “Special Inspections” (SI) to many designers, owners, contractors and code officials. Previous Codes did not address or require Special Inspections to the level that the current Codes do. Associated Engineers provides structural special inspections in accordance with the current Building Code requirements. Such inspections can involve many portions of a project’s construction, such as subgrade, foundations, concrete, slabs, framing systems, bearing wall systems, structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, veneer systems, utility bracing, shearwalls and roof diaphragms. Our Professional Engineers use their education, training and experience to provide the Code required SI in a cost-effective and timely manner.
